Adopt a Sea Turtle Nest - $100

Beach erosion and sea level rise create constant threats to nesting habitats, and so Loggerhead sea turtle nests need to be protected and monitored.


By adopting a nest on Egmont Key, you directly support Friends of the Tampa Bay Wildlife Refuges conservation and education programs.


In appreciation, you will receive a wooden turtle plaque with your name and the number of hatchlings on it. We will place the plaques in the Egmont Key Guard House monthly as we receive the adoptions and we will email you when your nest arrives. To adopt a nest please complete the below form:

Hurricane Recovery Update - Reopening Notice

Egmont Key National Wildlife Refuge is now open, though all structures in or near the lighthouse area and within the private property of the Pilots Compound remain off limits. Significant damage remains from recent hurricanes, please exercise caution while visiting the refuge and obey all posted warnings and direction by Service staff and Law Enforcement Officers.
