Without volunteers to staff the center, we are unable to open it and everyone loses out. You don’t need to be an “expert” on Egmont, its history, or its critters. The center includes a number of first class interpretive panels that provide the basic information that interests visitors.
Free transportation to and from Egmont Key is provided by Hubbard’s Marina Egmont Key Ferry.

Egmont Key National Wildlife Refuge is now open, though all structures in or near the lighthouse area and within the private property of the Pilots Compound remain off limits. Significant damage remains from recent hurricanes, please exercise caution while visiting the refuge and obey all posted warnings and direction by Service staff and Law Enforcement Officers.
